The Aupal Group is proud to announce that Sonia Aghzaf successfully obtained her doctorate, with honors, on July 9, 2025.
This degree rewards her outstanding work over the last three years at Genesis Lab, the Aupal Group’s research laboratory, in partnership with the Università di Corsica Pasquale Paoli, as part of a CIFRE (Industrial Agreement for Training through Research).

Her thesis, entitled “Characterization of the bacterial and fungal diversity in habitats of Corsica Island”, provides a solid scientific answer to the effectiveness of essential oils in gaseous form.

The scale of the scientific challenge is highlighted by Marion Brunel, scientific manager at Genesis Lab:
« It was a bit of a crazy project. We knew that essential oils were effective when applied topically, but in gaseous form, we only had a few publications dating back 20 years to refer to. We all sat down around a table and decided together to go for it. It just goes to show that projects that seem a little crazy at first can lead to great successes in the end. »
This fundamental research paves the way for the creation of new, more natural ingredients for the products distributed by our subsidiary H2O at Home France, which promotes health and air quality.

Congratulations to Sonia Aghzaf on her remarkable career! The Aupal Group and Genesis Lab reaffirm their commitment to innovation and ambitious, original scientific collaborations.
